Who we are

Angel Hands Maui is 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded in the wake of the 2023 Maui wildfires in Lahaina.

Last August, Terri Ewbank, our founder and owner of Elly’s Formal Wear & Bridal on Maui, put a video on social media asking for prom dress donations.

She and a group of dedicated volunteers led by Terri, Kaena Brown and Eva Palakiko worked together to host a Prom Pop-up Store for Lahainaluna High School students from who had lost so much.  They provided a red-carpet shopping experience that included free prom attire for students of wildfire impacted families, allowing them to select the “fit” of their dreams without burdening their families with the costs.

The project was a great success and was honored to be featured on Hawaii News Now, Maui Now and other news outlets  (view at links below)

Project Details:

In 2024,  Lahaina families are just beginning to recover from the losses of over 100 community members, homes, businesses and a sense of security.  There are promising signs - small businesses are reopening, families are going back to routines and houses, both temporary and permanent are starting to be rebuilt.  While this is happening, there isn’t a lot of disposable income available for special events like prom.  Angel Hands is on a mission to send Lahainaluna Juniors & Seniors to prom in style again this year.
